The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday sealed six coaching institutes, including an Allen Career Institute centre, for failing to comply with fire safety norms despite being served notices. The action was taken against the Allen Career Institute in Lalghati and five coaching institutes operating from Goyal Tower in Indrapuri. According to the civic body, the institutes failed to rectify fire safety deficiencies within the stipulated time, forcing authorities to vacate and seal the premises. Allen centre lacked emergency staircase Acting on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Sanskriti Jain, a joint team from the Fire Brigade and Revenue Department inspected the Allen Career Institute operating from Building No. 89 in Lalghati. During the inspection, officials found that the building did not have an emergency staircase. They also found that the fire hydrant system was not operating in automatic mode and was not connected to a dedicated generator, both considered serious fire safety lapses. Following the inspection, the building was vacated and sealed. Five coaching institutes in Goyal Tower also sealed As part of the same drive, officials inspected Goyal Tower in Indrapuri, where five coaching institutes were found violating fire safety regulations. The institutes sealed are: NITDP training online institute Authorities found that the building had no emergency staircase, the fire extinguishers had expired, and adequate ventilation was lacking. All five institutes were subsequently vacated and sealed. Notices issued on June 25 The Municipal Corporation said notices had been served to all six institutes on June 25, 2026, directing them to address the identified fire safety deficiencies. However, during a follow-up inspection, officials found that the required improvements had not been made. As a result, the civic body proceeded with sealing the premises.
