A spa operator was allegedly held captive and brutally assaulted inside a hotel room in Jabalpur, in an incident that was captured on video and later circulated on social media. The viral video shows the victim crying in pain, begging the attackers to stop, while several men allegedly continue beating him with belts and thick ropes. Despite repeated pleas for mercy, the assault reportedly continued. Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation. Efforts are underway to trace both the accused and the victim. Dispute allegedly linked to ₹70,000–80,000 financial transaction According to police, the incident is believed to be linked to a financial dispute of around ₹70,000–80,000 between hotel operator Sahil Chaudhary and spa operator Abhishek Thakur. The two had reportedly argued over the matter on previous occasions. Victim allegedly lured to hotel and assaulted Police said Sahil Chaudhary allegedly called Abhishek Thakur to Hotel Velvet, located near the Zero Degree area in Vijay Nagar. After arriving at the hotel, Abhishek was allegedly taken to a room where several men assaulted him with belts and ropes. The assault was reportedly recorded by people present in the room. The video later surfaced on social media, showing the victim screaming in pain and repeatedly pleading to be released. Accused allegedly took victim away in a car According to Abhishek’s friends, Rohan Chaudhary, Prashant Sen alias Golu, and Pradeep Panda were also present during the incident. They alleged that after beating Abhishek inside the hotel room, the group forced him into a car and took him away. The victim was allegedly assaulted again while inside the vehicle. Victim yet to record statement Police said Abhishek Thakur’s mobile phone has remained switched off since the incident, and his statement has not yet been recorded. Investigators believe his statement will be crucial in establishing the exact sequence of events, the motive behind the assault, and the role of each accused. Last location traced to Bhopal According to Lordganj Police Station, the victim’s last known location was traced to Bhopal. Police are trying to contact him and said further legal action will be taken after recording his statement. Police investigating viral video Additional Superintendent of Police Anjana Tiwari said the viral video is around two days old. The investigation has been assigned to Lordganj Police Station in-charge Naval Arya. Police are verifying the authenticity of the video, investigating the reason behind the assault, and searching for the suspects identified during the probe. Further action will be taken based on the evidence and statements recorded during the investigation.
