A case has been registered against BJP leader Anil Shrivastava after a female doctor and nursing staff at Bundelkhand Medical College (BMC) in Sagar accused him of inappropriate touching, misbehaviour and threatening to shoot them. Following the incident, doctors and nursing staff stopped work and staged a protest outside the hospital’s main gate, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and stronger security measures for healthcare workers. Dispute began after patient was brought to hospital According to the complainant, a patient identified as Laxmi Tiwari was brought to the hospital for treatment at around 2 a.m. on Thursday. Even before the patient arrived, hospital staff had been receiving repeated phone calls regarding the treatment. During treatment, two men accompanying the patient allegedly began behaving aggressively with the medical staff. The complainant alleged that when the staff objected, the men threatened them. One of them allegedly touched a female staff member inappropriately and threatened to shoot them outside the hospital. The staff identified the accused as Anil Pipra (Anil Shrivastava). Although police reached the hospital, they allegedly took no action because the accused had already left the premises after being escorted out by security personnel. Doctors demand arrests and stronger hospital security The Junior Doctors Association (JDA), Madhya Pradesh, condemned the alleged misconduct, assault and death threats against the female doctor. The association questioned the response of the college administration and the police, saying such incidents negatively affect the morale of healthcare workers. The JDA demanded strict action against the accused within 24 hours, along with accountability for the college administration if there was any attempt to suppress the matter. It warned of a statewide boycott of work if action is not taken within the stipulated time. Doctors also demanded: BJP leader denies allegations Anil Shrivastava, a member of the BJP Yuva Morcha state executive committee, denied all allegations. He said he had visited the hospital only to inquire about a patient from his village and had merely requested that treatment be provided promptly. He claimed he did not misbehave with any doctor or female staff member and suggested that CCTV footage from the ward be examined to establish the truth.
