A video purportedly showing an assault during a Muharram procession in Ujjain has surfaced days after the recent car blast incident linked to Muharram events. The video, said to be from the Nai Sadak area and dated June 25, shows a group of youths allegedly attacking people with sticks and plastic pipes as the procession passed through the locality. According to the footage, several youths can be seen standing with sticks before suddenly charging toward people participating in or watching the procession. Panic breaks out after sudden assault The alleged attack triggered panic, with people seen running in different directions to escape. Reports suggest that several individuals sustained minor injuries during the incident. The video also shows some people chasing the alleged attackers, but the suspects reportedly managed to flee the spot. Police said that no formal complaint has been filed by either side in connection with the incident so far. Second such incident within a week This is the second reported incident of violence during Muharram processions in the region within a week. Earlier, in Badnagar, a car explosion during a Muharram procession drew attention after a vehicle was allegedly used to create a blast as part of a display. Separately, on the night of June 18, a dispute broke out among youths during a horse procession in Begambagh, which later escalated into a clash involving sticks. Police examining viral video Police said they are verifying the authenticity of the viral video and attempting to identify the individuals seen in the footage. Officials said further action will be taken after the investigation is completed and if a formal complaint is received.
