Jabalpur’s Adhartal police have arrested four people, including a minor, for allegedly trafficking cannabis near Karonda Bypass. Police seized 14.5 kg of illegal cannabis worth around ₹5 lakh, along with two scooters used for trafficking and four mobile phones. According to police, the accused were spotted on Thursday near Dilip Auto Electricals on the Katni-Jabalpur road, standing beside two silver-grey Jupiter scooters without registration plates. On seeing the police vehicle, they tried to flee but were caught after a brief chase. During the search, officers found large quantities of cannabis hidden inside college bags placed on the scooters instead of books. The arrested accused have been identified as 21-year-old Dishant Singh Parihar from Satna, 21-year-old Anshul Rai from Seoni, 21-year-old Naveen Jhariya, and a minor. Police recovered a total of 14.5 kg of cannabis from their possession. See two pictures During interrogation, the accused allegedly told police that Dishant and the minor had procured the cannabis from Pawan Bagri, a resident of Amdari in Satna. The deal had been arranged over the phone with Anshul and Naveen from Seoni, and the consignment was about to be handed over when police raided the spot and arrested the entire group. Police are now searching for absconding accused Pawan Bagri. A case has been registered against all the arrested accused, and further legal proceedings are underway.
