After the snooker clubs operating in Gwalior city, now the Women Safety Wing of the police has opened a major front against spa centers. On Sunday night, special police teams suddenly raided prominent spa centers in the city. This surprise action caused panic in the spa centers. The situation at one center was such that upon seeing the police, the young women working there ran straight into the kitchen and hid out of fear, from where they were brought out by women police personnel. During the investigation, the spa centers’ records and customer entry registers were found to be incomplete, for which the police severely reprimanded the operators. ‘Surprise Sunday action’ by women’s wing based on inputs of immoral activities Under the direction of Additional SP Anu Beniwal, teams from the Women’s Safety Cell were deployed in the field for surprise checking of spa centers in the city. Police were continuously receiving inputs that under the guise of spas and therapy, immoral flesh trade and suspicious activities were being conducted in some parts of the city. To verify this, on Sunday night DSP Shikha Soni, DSP Annapurna Sirsam and Women Inspector Deepti Tomar along with heavy police force and women constables suddenly arrived to raid ‘The Beach Spa Center’ and ‘The Healing Spa Center’. Young women found in kitchen, brought to police station for questioning As soon as the police vehicles took a U-turn outside the spa centers, the staff and managers present inside were shocked. During the checking, several young women working at the spa center ran and hid in corners of the kitchen and store room to save themselves. Female police officers immediately took charge and brought out all the young women hiding in the kitchen. Not receiving satisfactory answers during initial questioning and considering their suspicious role, the police team brought them along to the station for further interrogation, where their identity cards, IDs and consent are being verified. No register maintained, no ID cards; final warning to operators After thoroughly searching the corners and cabins of the spa centers, when police examined the official documents, licenses, and registers containing details of visitors, major irregularities came to light. The complete names, mobile numbers, and ID card records of customers visiting the spa centers were not properly maintained. The angles of cameras and footage storage were also inspected to ensure what activities were taking place inside. No mercy if immoral activities found Police have strictly instructed the owners and managers of both spa centers that spa centers are only for designated commercial therapy. If any kind of immoral act or suspicious activity is found behind this, the center will be directly sealed and an FIR will be registered without any leniency. Young women brought for questioning ASP Anu Beniwal stated that teams from the Women’s Safety Cell conducted surprise inspections at two major spa centers on Sunday. Our main objective is to ensure that no immoral or illegal activities are being operated under the guise of spas in the city. During the checking, some young women got scared and hid in the kitchen; they have been brought in for questioning. The customer registers of the centers were not found to be proper. All operators have been given a strict warning to comply with the rules 100 percent, and strict legal action will be taken against violators.
