For Madhya Pradesh’s third Rajya Sabha seat, Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan and BJP’s Mahesh Kevat filed their nominations today. At 11 AM, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal along with MLAs and workers also gathered at the state BJP office. After this, all people will go to the Assembly. Here, the nomination will be filed around 12:30 PM. It may be noted that BJP made Mahesh Kevat, chairman of the Fishermen Welfare Board, the candidate for the third seat late Sunday night. Meanwhile, for filing Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination, former CM Digvijaya Singh, PCC chief Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and PCC chiefs of Karnataka-Telangana will also go to the Assembly. Two BJP candidates have already filed their nominations Earlier on Saturday, BJP candidates Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agarwal had filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections. In a BJP legislative party meeting held at CM House, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav instructed all BJP MLAs to remain in Bhopal until June 8. Continuous deliberations and meetings in BJP There was a continuous round of deliberations and meetings in the BJP regarding fielding a candidate for the third seat against Congress’s Meenakshi Natarajan. On Sunday, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav deliberated throughout the day at CM House and met with senior leaders. After this, late in the evening, a meeting was held at the BJP office with Regional Organization Minister Ajay Jamwal, State In-charge Dr. Mahendra Singh, and State President Hemant Khandelwal. All three leaders reached CM House around eight o’clock at night. A meeting continued here for an hour as well. During this time, consent was received from the central leadership to field a candidate. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal put forward the name of Mahesh Kevat after discussions with Ajay Jamwal and Mahendra Singh. Meanwhile, an official order declaring Mahesh Kevat as the candidate was also issued at midnight. Congress may shift its MLAs to Telangana After BJP fielded a candidate for the third Rajya Sabha seat, Congress’s concerns have increased. The party is considering corralling its MLAs. Congress may send all its MLAs to Telangana. However, no one has confirmed this. Congress senior leader Meenakshi Natarajan is also the state in-charge of Telangana.
