The last date for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha is June 8. Meanwhile, the BJP is preparing to field a candidate for the third seat. In the meantime, in a meeting of the BJP legislative party held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday night, all MLAs have been instructed not to leave Bhopal until June 8. It is believed that political equations may change until the last day of nominations. According to sources, preparations are underway to field either former MLA Jeetu Jirati or Vinod Gotiya for the third seat. However, the BJP has not officially confirmed this yet. In the meeting, all MLAs were asked to stay in Bhopal till June 8. Congress claims that 62 out of its 64 MLAs are with them, while former Chief Minister Kamal Nath joined the meeting online. Rajya Sabha candidate Meenakshi Natarajan said that the reality of the BJP’s claims will come to light during the nomination process.
