Drink the chemical in this bottle and take off your clothes and lie down on the bed…” This terrifying ordeal belongs to Ramesh alias Pappu Shivhare, a furniture businessman from Jaura. The businessman alleges that he was held hostage and demanded 10 lakh rupees, threatened with death and false implication. Police arrested Sonam Kushwah, the named mastermind in the infamous honey trap and blackmailing case, on Friday (June 5). She used to identify herself as a BJP leader and social worker. She also has pictures with several senior BJP leaders. In the case, three people including Sachin Kushwah and Gajendra Kushwah have been arrested by the police. Meanwhile, accomplice Meera is absconding.

He says – he met mastermind Sonam Kushwah at an event about 3 months ago. It was May 10. As usual, I was at my showroom. At 3 PM, I went home, located above the showroom, to eat lunch. Sonam Kushwah arrived at the showroom at 3:23 PM. When she asked about me, the employees told her I had gone for lunch. Sonam said okay… and without saying anything to anyone, she barged into the house upstairs. I was resting in the room after eating. My wife was eating then. Sonam asked, “Where is Seth ji?” to which my wife replied, “He is sleeping.” My wife asked Sonam for her introduction and offered her food. When Sonam said yes, my wife set the plate. Both sat and ate together. Asked to visit the site at 7 PM and left Shivhare says – In the course of conversation, Sonam ate 7-8 rotis. My wife asked, “What work do you have with Seth ji?” to which she replied, “I need to buy a wardrobe worth up to 40 thousand rupees. I also need to get a sofa and an AC installed.” My wife said, “You can go downstairs and choose.” To this, she said, “Sister, you also come along.” My wife said, “It’s your work, you go and choose, then you can talk to Seth ji.” Sonam went downstairs and kept looking at items in the showroom for some time. Technician Adil explained that the AC is installed according to the length and width of the room. To this, she asked for a site visit at 7 PM and left from there. By 7 PM, Sonam had made 30 to 40 calls to me. Since it was a new number, I ignored the calls. Due to many calls, the employees said – “Please pick up the phone, we don’t know why so many calls are being made.” As soon as I picked up the call, Sonam introduced herself and started requesting a home visit for AC installation. After repeated requests, I, along with technician Adil, reached the address given by Sonam on a bike at 7:30 PM. She had said – “Come to the main road from the lane.” Where the woman had asked us to stop – there was a petrol pump nearby. Sonam was a little late in coming, so Adil said – I’ll get petrol filled until then. Adil went to the pump, and during this time, Sonam arrived. When I stopped for Adil, she said – It’s nearby, you go, we’ll call him. Took me on the pretext of showing a room, locked from outside She took me inside a house a short distance down the street. As soon as I entered, a woman appeared. She introduced herself as Meera Kushwah. She took me inside on the pretext of showing a room and then locked the door from outside. In a short while, two boys, Gajendra Kushwah and Sachin Kushwah, arrived there by auto. All four started beating me, demanding money. They took my gold ring and also the 5 thousand rupees kept in my pocket. They repeatedly demanded 10 lakh rupees. They said, ‘Get it from your brother, do anything, but you will have to give 10 lakh rupees.’ To save my life, I said, ‘Let’s go to my shop, you can take 50 thousand immediately.’ I will not complain to anyone. However, they refused to do so. When they didn’t get the money, they started planning to take me somewhere in an auto. They called someone, who it was – I don’t know. They were addressing him as Deewana ji. He was saying that if he is not giving anything, bring him here, we will file a rape case. They said – Something went wrong, get out quickly, the police must be coming. Meanwhile, Adil became suspicious after searching for a long time and finding the phone switched off. He informed family and acquaintances that I was missing, after which acquaintances and the business community started searching for me in that area. At this, the two women and the young man panicked. They said, “Something has gone wrong, get out quickly, the police must be coming, many people are searching for him outside.” After this, they left me and the four of them started to flee from there. A little later, family members arrived with the police and rescued me based on information from the neighborhood residents. Sonam was also caught, the other three escaped. During this time, I received a call from the shop, so I returned thinking that Ramesh Bhai must have arrived. I reached the shop, and from there, I left to deliver some items to my home. Sethji’s son, Kanhaiya, called me saying that his father hadn’t arrived yet. I said – he must be on his way. I said – call him, and he replied – it’s not connecting. I said – the phone has been switched off for a long time. After this, I immediately went to Kanhaiya. At a quarter to 11 PM, Ramesh Bhai was freed from Sonam’s custody. The police took Sonam to the station. We all also went to the station. Accused Sonam caught trying to escape by bus Both main accused, Sonam Kushwaha and Meera Kushwaha, who were absconding in the honeytrap case, had filed an anticipatory bail application in the Jaura court. The court rejected it on May 18. After this, Sonam filed a bail application in the High Court. On May 25, the MP High Court directed Morena police to add correct facts and take action with fair discretion. On June 5, the main accused, BJP leader Sonam Kushwaha, was arrested by the police. According to SDOP Jaura Nitin Baghel – Sonam Kushwaha, the main accused in the blackmail and honeytrap case, has been arrested. Information was received that the woman was leaving the city by bus. The team cordoned off the area and apprehended Sonam from a passenger bus on MS Road. After completing the documentation process, she was presented in court, from where she was sent to jail. Sonam’s associate Meera accused of husband’s murder Accused Meera Kushwah in the honey trap case is accused of murdering her husband in 2024 in her in-laws’ village, Jarah. Not only that, she had the body thrown into Pagara Dam, Jaura. After investigation, a case was registered against Meera under murder charges. Meera has been in jail for a long time in this case and has recently been released on bail.
