In Shivpuri district on Friday, a young man attacked a 17-year-old minor with an axe after breaking into her house. He then put a noose around her neck and hung her from the roof. The seriously injured minor has been referred from Shivpuri Medical College to Gwalior. The incident occurred on Friday in a village under the Khod police outpost area. The accused has been identified as Dharmendra Parihar (22). According to information, there was an old rivalry between Ajab Singh Parihar and another family. Ajab’s son, Dharmendra, developed a one-sided love for the minor girl from the same village. About 15 days ago, Dharmendra stopped the minor on the way, after which the dispute between the two families escalated. A village-level panchayat was also held regarding this matter. The panchayat mediated a compromise between both parties. It was decided that Dharmendra would not repeat such an act in the future. The minor was alone at home. Dharmendra reached her house and attacked her with an axe. To escape the attack, the minor climbed onto the roof. The accused followed her and reached there too. It is alleged that Dharmendra tied a noose around the minor’s neck and hung her from the roof. After some time, he threw her down along with the noose and fled. After the incident, there was widespread outrage among the family members. The minor’s uncle’s daughter-in-law stated that she witnessed the entire incident. The accused committed the crime by seizing the opportunity and brutally tortured the minor. Enraged Family Members Blocked the Road Enraged by the incident, the minor’s family members and villagers blocked the Khod-Sirsod road. The family members insisted on calling the Collector and the Superintendent of Police. Traffic remained closed on the road for about two hours. Deputy Tehsildar Shubham Garg reached the spot. He discussed with the family members and took a written application of their demands. The family members have demanded the immediate arrest of all accused, action to ensure the main accused is sentenced to death, demolition of the accused’s houses with bulldozers, providing financial assistance to the victim’s family, and a fair and swift investigation into the matter. The Naib Tehsildar assured appropriate action, after which the family members agreed to end the blockade. The police are engaged in investigating the matter. SDOP Prashant Sharma informed that an FIR has been registered against five accused in this case. The injured minor is undergoing treatment in Gwalior and the police are investigating all aspects.
