Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva is going to start in Madhya Pradesh from July. In the first phase, this service will start from Indore, where 300 buses will be operated. Buses will be operated in 3 categories. On Monday, a meeting of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited was held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for the operation of buses in the state under the Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Board and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, and other officials. In the meeting, Board Director Manish Singh gave a presentation before Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Manish Singh informed that Madhya Pradesh has been divided into 7 regions: Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior, and Rewa. He provided information regarding the urban transport already operating in these cities. It was informed in the meeting that under the PM E-Bus Service and Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana, bus operations will first start from the Indore region. Under the Indore region, all districts of the Indore division are included. Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL), located in Indore, will now work in the operational area of buses starting from the entire Indore division. Operation of three categories of buses will begin 150 electric buses will also be launched The operation of 150 electric buses of the PM E-Bus service will also be started in Indore city in the month of July. Electric buses have started arriving. Along with this, a total of 620 routes have been identified from all seven cities of the seven regional headquarters to various district headquarters of the state, on which a total of 2432 buses will operate. Under this, a total of 121 routes have been identified from the Indore region to other districts of the state, on which 608 buses will be operated. City Buses to Run from Seven Cities City buses will also be operated in the seven regional headquarters of Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, Sagar, Jabalpur, and Rewa under the Chief Minister’s Sugam Parivahan Seva (Easy Transport Service). These buses will also be able to go beyond the city to important suburban areas for the convenience of the general public. Under this category of city routes, a total of 28 routes have been identified in Indore, within the city and up to suburban areas. For the convenience of the general public, 784 buses (including 150 buses from PM E-Bus Seva) will be operated on these routes. As per the agreement, there are a total of 101 routes for buses going from the Indore region to the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. A total of 276 interstate buses will be operated by Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (A.I.C.T.S.L) on these routes. Similarly, the total number of inter-city, city buses, and inter-state routes originating from Indore is 250. A total of 1688 buses are proposed to be operated on these. Just as all three categories of buses will be operated on various routes from the Indore region, similarly, from the other 6 regional headquarters, these three categories of buses will also be operated on identified routes by the subsidiary companies of that region. Existing private buses will continue to operate A total of 1164 routes of all categories have been identified in seven regions across the state. On these routes, a total of 5206 buses will operate. This operation of buses will commence after the publication of the scheme, under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This will not affect the permits of currently operating private buses. They will continue to operate as per the previous arrangement. Company Structure and Posts The organizational structure, posts, and service recruitment rules 2026 for the state-level holding company (Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited) and 7 regional subsidiary companies have been approved. A total of 1190 posts have been sanctioned at both levels, which will be filled in a phased manner over the next 4 years. Recruitment will be based on deputation, contract, and amalgamation. Department and Responsibility The holding company will have 7 departments including IT, Planning, Policy, Human Resources, Infrastructure, Enforcement, and Business Development. Their heads will be Chief General Managers (IAS, State Administrative Service, or technical experts). 140 posts are sanctioned in the holding company and 150 posts in 7 subsidiary companies. Police, special armed forces, and retired personnel will be hired on contract for security and quality. Orders and Financial Status Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed collectors and urban bodies to organize bus services and public facilities and to take appropriate decisions on the liabilities of companies in 7 cities. According to Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, the authorized capital of the state-level company will be 100 crore rupees and the paid-up capital will be 35 crore rupees. The meeting was attended by Neeraj Mandloi, Sanjay Dubey, Manish Rastogi, Deepali Rastogi, Sanjay Shukla, along with Indore Divisional Commissioner Sudam Khade, Collector Shivam Verma, and Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal.
