A case of brutality, bargaining, and then murder of a 15-year-old minor has come to light on the hill of Navagraha Temple in Gwalior. The minor’s boyfriend, along with his accomplice, first gang-raped her, then started negotiating to sell her for 50 thousand rupees. When the girl resisted, the enraged boyfriend, along with his friend, strangled her. The incident took place on May 28. After committing the murder, they threw the body there and fled. Fearing capture, the accused returned to the crime scene the next day, May 29, and also burned the body by dousing it with petrol. The minor was a resident of Mau in Bhind district. A missing person report was filed there, and when the police apprehended the suspected boyfriend, the case was revealed. Police have taken all three accused into custody. According to preliminary information received from Janakganj police station, the minor student was in a love affair with Ramu Gurjar, a resident of the same area. On May 28, Ramu Gurjar lured the minor and brought her to Gwalior on his Bullet motorcycle. Ramu’s other accomplice, Arun, was also involved in this conspiracy. After gangrape, there were plans to sell her for ?50,000
Accused Ramu Gurjar and Arun took the minor to a secluded spot on a hill above the Navagraha Temple in the Janakganj police station area. Here, both accused gangraped the minor. When the minor resisted, she was beaten. She started crying and asked to be taken home. The brutality reached its peak when, after the gang rape, the main accused Ramu Gurjar started negotiating to sell his own girlfriend to his accomplice Arun for 50 thousand rupees. When the minor saw this deal for her dignity happening before her eyes, she cried and vehemently protested, trying to raise an alarm. Murdered by strangulation, the body was burned with petrol the next day
Enraged by the minor’s resistance, Ramu Gurjar and Arun together strangled the innocent girl on the hill itself. She died on the spot. After this, the accused hid the body in the bushes and fled. The next day after the murder, on May 29, the accused planned to completely dispose of the body. This time, Ramu and Arun, along with another accomplice, Gaurav Kushwah, reached the Navagraha Temple hill again. With the intention of hiding the identity and destroying evidence, the accused poured petrol on the victim’s body and set it on fire. Meanwhile, seeing the minor missing from home, the distressed family had filed a missing person report at Mau police station. The family had expressed suspicion on Ramu Gurjar to the police as he was often seen around the girl. Gwalior and Mau police stations, in a joint operation, took suspect Ramu Gurjar into custody. Initially, he kept misleading the police, but when the police interrogated him strictly and presented the call records, he broke down and narrated the entire horrific story of gang rape, bargaining, and murder on the hill. CSP Said – accused in custody, evidence collected from the hill CSP Lashkar Kiran Ahirwar said – Based on the information provided by the accused Ramu Gurjar, the Janakganj police team reached the hill located above the Navagraha Temple, from where the partially burnt and mutilated body of the deceased has been recovered. Father kept waiting for his daughter to return The victim’s father said that his daughter had left home, saying she was going out, but did not return until late at night. When the family started searching nearby, some jewelry and cash were also found missing from the house. After this, a missing person report was filed at the police station the next day. When the family later received information about their daughter’s murder, they were overwhelmed with grief. The father said that the daughter whom they had raised with great love was brutally killed by the accused. He has demanded the harshest possible punishment for the culprits.
