In Chhatarpur, a mother could not bear the shock of her 6-year-old son’s death. Before reaching the district hospital, the innocent child, lying in his mother’s lap, stopped moving. As soon as her son became still, the mother, Razia Khatoon, leaned back on the ambulance seat and never got up again. Upon reaching the hospital, doctors declared both mother and son dead. It is being said that there was a difference of about 10 minutes between their deaths. The incident took place in Harpalpur. On Tuesday, after the post-mortem, the bodies of the mother and son were handed over to the family. Child’s health deteriorated due to vomiting and diarrhea According to relatives, 6-year-old Hussain, son of Subhan Ahmed, a resident of Station Mohalla, suddenly fell ill around 3 PM on Monday. He complained of vomiting, diarrhea, high fever, and abdominal pain. As his condition worsened, the family took him to Harpalpur Hospital at 4 PM. After primary treatment there, doctors referred him to Naogaon Hospital. Referred to Chhatarpur district hospital Around 7 PM, the family took Hussain to Naogaon Hospital. Doctors treated him there for about an hour, but his condition did not improve. The vomiting and diarrhea were not stopping, and he was constantly in pain due to high fever. After this, doctors advised them to take him to Chhatarpur District Hospital. Uncle said – Nephew was sitting in his mother’s lap The child’s maternal uncle, Mohd. Salim, said that when the family was coming from Nowgong to Chhatarpur, the mother, Razia Khatoon (36), was holding her son Hussain in her lap. She was sometimes stroking his head and sometimes caressing his stomach. On the way, Hussain’s condition continuously deteriorated. A short distance before reaching the district hospital, movement in his body stopped. Mother suddenly became quiet after crying According to Mohd. Salim, when her son gave no response, Razia probably understood that he was no more. After this, she suddenly became quiet while crying and sat with her head resting on the seat. The family didn’t understand anything at first, but when she didn’t get up, they became suspicious. About 5 minutes later, the family reached the district hospital, where doctors declared both Hussain and Razia dead after examination. Relatives informed that the child’s health deteriorated amidst the heatwave and intense heat. However, the health department has stated that the causes of the child’s death will be investigated. After the incident, a crowd gathered in the district hospital premises. Grief has spread in the family due to two deaths at once. Her husband, Subhan Ahmed (38), is battling the last stage of cancer and has been bedridden for a long time. The family includes elder son Saif (15), daughter Nausin (14), and younger daughter Alia (12). Razia was managing the family’s expenses, children’s education, and her husband’s treatment by running a grocery store at home.
