In Gwalior, an 11-year-old student was raped by her uncle (father’s elder brother). The accused forcibly dragged the innocent girl into a room, stuffed a handkerchief in her mouth, and tied her hands and feet. After that, he raped her. The incident occurred on May 13, 2026, in the Jhansi Road area. The innocent girl lives with her maternal grandparents and had come to her mother’s place two days before the incident. The family tried to suppress the matter for 12 days. When she complained of stomach pain on Monday, the matter reached the Jhansi Road police station. The police registered a case and arrested the accused uncle. The innocent girl has been in shock since the incident. Lives at maternal grandparents’ home, had stayed to celebrate brother’s birthday According to the complaint, the 11-year-old daughter of a family living in the Jhansi Road area is a 6th-grade student. The student has been living with her maternal grandparents since childhood. On May 11, 2026, she had come to her parents’ home to attend her younger brother’s birthday celebration. After the birthday, she stayed there for a few days. Power outage in the area, she had gone to wake up her brother The incident occurred on the night of May 13 at around 8 PM, when there was a power outage in the area. Due to the heat, the family members were sitting outside the house. During this time, the mother sent her daughter inside to wake up and bring out her younger brother, who was sleeping. The child came out, but the student did not return. Uncle took advantage of the darkness and dragged her into the room The uncle caught the innocent girl on her way back after waking up her brother and forcibly dragged her into the room. To stop her from screaming, the accused stuffed a handkerchief in her mouth and tied her hands and feet with rope. After this, the accused raped the innocent girl and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Case suppressed for 12 days under pressure from in-laws After the incident, the scared and frightened innocent girl came out crying and told her mother the entire incident. Due to fear of defamation and pressure from the in-laws, the matter did not reach the police station for 12 days. The innocent girl was sent back to her maternal grandfather’s house. On Monday, when she had stomach pain, the family showed her to several doctors, but there was no relief. The doctors suspected internal injury, then the mother reached the Jhansi Road police station with the girl and filed a complaint against the brother-in-law. Police cordoned off and caught the accused uncle Police conducted a medical examination of the victim and registered a case against the accused under sections including rape, POCSO Act and threat to kill, along with other sections. The station in charge formed a special team for the arrest of the accused. After cordoning off, the accused uncle was arrested on Monday from his possible hideout. Police are interrogating him.
