Due to the continuously increasing water crisis in Indore, people are facing severe difficulties. People are troubled by the water shortage. There have been road blockades and sit-in protests at several places regarding the water problem. In view of the water problem, on Monday, Collector Shivam Verma and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kshitij Singhal reviewed the water supply system. All Additional Commissioners, departmental officers, and concerned employees were present in the review meeting. During this, detailed discussions were held regarding the current water supply system, status of water tanks, water tanker operations, hydrant system, and providing drinking water to people without hassle. Officers provided information about the status of water distribution in various zones, the availability of tankers during water supply, and the work being done to resolve potential problems. Wherever a water crisis situation arises, immediate alternative arrangements should be ensured. He said that providing timely and adequate water to people is the administration’s priority. The Collector and Corporation Commissioner obtained information regarding water tank filling and supply at the SCADA control room and gave necessary guidelines. Meanwhile, Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal has directed all Additional Commissioners to regularly review the water supply system in their respective allocated zone areas and continuously monitor at the field level.
