₹1 crore theft at govt school principal’s house:Gold, silver and ₹10 lakh cash stolen; CCTV off for 24 hours

A major theft occurred on Friday night in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. Thieves targeted the house of Badrawas CM Rise School Principal Mahendra Kumar Gupta and stole approximately Rs 1 crore. The accused fled with gold and silver jewelry and cash from the house. According to information, Mahendra Kumar Gupta, a resident of Ward Number 8 in Badrawas town, was sleeping at home with his wife on Friday night. During this time, unknown thieves arrived from behind the house. They broke the kitchen window and entered inside. The thieves targeted the cupboard kept in the room. Son and daughter-in-law are doctor and engineer CM Rise School Principal Mahendra Gupta is a government teacher. His family consists of two sons and two daughters-in-law. Family members are working in different professions. One son and one daughter-in-law are doctors, while the other son is an engineer and his wife works in a bank. See these pictures related to the theft… Mahendra Kumar was at home with his wife and son-daughter-in-law Mahendra Kumar Gupta informed that on Saturday morning he reached the police station with his son Harshit Gupta. He informed the police about the incident. He told that on Friday night around 10 pm, after having dinner, all family members had gone to sleep in their respective rooms. At that time, his wife Girja Gupta, son Harshit Gupta and daughter-in-law Poonam Gupta were present at home. He told that when he woke up around 5 am in the morning, the doors of both the front rooms were found closed from inside. When he tried to open the gate, he found that the latches of both rooms were locked from inside. When he looked from the balcony, the iron grill of the kitchen window was found protruding outward. CCTV cameras were switched off 24 hours earlier After the theft incident, investigation revealed that the CCTV cameras installed at Mahendra Gupta’s house had been switched off about 24 hours earlier. It is being suspected that the thieves had conducted a recce of the house before the incident. Police have also found a ladder near about two bighas of land located behind the house. Half a kilo of gold and 4 kilos of silver stolen The thieves broke the lock of the cupboard and stole approximately half a kilo of gold jewelry (around Rs 80 lakhs), about 4 kilos of silver (Rs 10-15 lakhs) and Rs 10 lakh in cash kept inside. According to initial estimates, the value of the stolen items is around 1 crore rupees. The stolen items include 16 gold rings, 12 tops, 4 mangalsutras, 1 thussi, 1 necklace, 4 bangles, 4 balas, 1 gol, 4 chains and 4 mohars. The silver jewelry includes 20 pairs of anklets, 4 heavy anklets, 2 kamarpetas and 1 khaguriya. Items found scattered, cupboard lock broken When family members woke up on Saturday morning, they found household items scattered. The cupboard lock was broken. After this, the theft was discovered. The family immediately informed the Badarwas police station. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and started the investigation. Police Scanning CCTV Footage The police have inspected the crime scene. CCTV camera footage from the surrounding area is being scanned to identify the thieves. Currently, the police are engaged in searching for unknown accused. After this major theft incident, questions are being raised about the security arrangements in the town.
