AR Rahman performs live in Bhopal:Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor arrive to promote ‘Peddi’; fans gather at BHEL Dussehra ground

Oscar-winning composer and singer AR Rahman performed live at the BHEL Dussehra Ground in Bhopal, drawing a massive crowd even before the concert began. Fans from different places were seen waiting for hours to hear him perform. The event was not limited to a music concert, as several stars also gathered in Bhopal for the promotion of the South Indian film ‘Peddi’. Superstar Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, and Divyenndu Sharma appeared on stage to promote the film. Before the concert began, actor Ravi Kishan addressed the audience and said that a big message would go out from Bhopal not only to Madhya Pradesh but to the whole of North India. He added that the reason why film industry personalities had come to Bhopal would be shared from the stage. The excitement among the audience increased further as AR Rahman arrived on stage. Sports Minister Vishvas Sarang also came on stage and jokingly said that his arrival might feel like the old Doordarshan message, “Sorry for the interruption.” He added that the people of Bhopal truly love artists. Peddi is slated for a theatrical release on June 4 and is being released as a pan-India film. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film features music composed by A. R. Rahman. It also marks Janhvi Kapoor’s second Telugu film after her debut in Devara in 2024. Speaking during the promotion of the upcoming film Peddi in Bhopal, Rahman said his team always tries to bring something new to audiences, making the project very special for them. He added that this time the promotion felt different because Indian cinema is witnessing a beautiful transformation through collaborations across industries. Rahman said the time has come for filmmakers and artists to work together on bigger and more ambitious projects. Actor Divyenndu Sharma, who is making his Telugu cinema debut with Peddi, said the film is extremely important for him. He expressed hope that audiences would shower the same love on his Telugu debut that they have given him in Hindi cinema and OTT projects. He added that he never imagined his entry into the Telugu film industry would be so grand, enjoyable, and filled with affection. When asked by Dainik Bhaskar why the promotions were being launched from Bhopal, Ram Charan said, “The people of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh deeply love wrestling and traditional sports. That connection made this place special for us.”
