Former Congress MP and National President of the Workers’ Cell, Udit Raj, has once again blamed EVMs for the recently announced election results. He said that a Dalit should be sent to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. While speaking to ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ in Bhopal, Udit Raj called BSP chief Mayawati a cruel woman and described the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ as limited to social media. Read Udit Raj’s answers to political questions Bhaskar: The Cockroach Janata Party says that they are also disappointed with the opposition, because the opposition cannot raise issues forcefully? Udit Raj: Those people are only raising issues on social media, whereas the opposition is fighting on the streets. Not even 10 people from the Cockroach Janata Party have come to the ground or Jantar Mantar yet. There is huge anger among the youth and people are connecting with them, that’s true, but they should not consider themselves so big. The fight is always on the ground and with the power of votes; they are currently limited only to social media. Bhaskar: How will you connect these social media youth with the Congress party? Udit Raj: This is a kind of sarcasm. Out of the three youths who started it, one is in the UK, one in Germany, and one in America. They are not even in India. Those who are connected with them on social media are already with Congress and the opposition. This anger is being expressed by them. Bhaskar: The trend of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ is growing rapidly on social media, what is your opinion on this? Udit Raj: Most unemployed people are active on this. Just as the Chief Justice also quipped that those who are active in RTI or social media and media are not government employees or servants; they are all unemployed people. Some people are doing it voluntarily, while others are doing it out of compulsion. Now a party was formed on social media, and the government got scared of it, after which their ‘X’ account was closed. There is great anger among Generation-Z youth regarding this. Bhaskar: So far, 89 papers have been leaked in the country? Udit Raj: I would appeal to these youngsters that their lives are not just ending, but many lives have already ended. 89 papers have been leaked in the country. From a small coaching institute owner in Maharashtra, 19 competitive students gain admission to AIIMS. Now we suspect how many of those who have obtained government jobs in the last 12 years are legitimate and how many are not? Once a student takes an exam, they get tired the second time. I myself have been an IRS officer, I know that once an exam is over, it is very difficult to prepare oneself again. Children are forced to go to Kota and Delhi, due to which their expenses are continuously increasing. Bhaskar: Recently, Rajendra Pal Gautam went to Lucknow, but Mayawati did not even open her doors for him? Udit Raj: Rajendra Pal Gautam says that he went to meet personally out of courtesy, not on behalf of the Congress party. When he didn’t go on behalf of the Congress, what is there to discuss? As far as Mayawati ji is concerned, she is a very impractical woman. She has a lot of cruelty, not gentleness. She is so caught in the clutches of the BJP that it is impossible for her to get out. Now, if any party thinks that it can contest elections with the BSP or exchange cooperation, it is not possible. Bhaskar: There are Rajya Sabha elections for three seats in MP. Digvijay Singh has refused to contest the election, and there is a demand to send a Dalit to the Rajya Sabha? Udit Raj: I also fully support this demand that a Dalit should be sent to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Bhaskar: What is the future strategy for the labor cell? Udit Raj: We have told our colleagues to go to districts and states and raise public awareness. Our struggle against privatization policies will continue, together with those who have joined us today. MNREGA should be fully reinstated, and this anti-people BJP government should be overthrown. Bhaskar: If all this continues, how will the results be in favor of Congress in the upcoming elections? Udit Raj: Is this concern only of the Congress party? Every citizen of the country wants freedom. Every citizen should be free to express themselves and live their life as they wish. This is also the duty of the citizens, because their future is also at stake. They should also support us, we are fighting from our side. Udit has formed the Indian Justice Party Dr. Udit Raj, a former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer who studied at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi, left his job in 2003 to form the Indian Justice Party for the rights of Dalits and backward classes. In 2014, he merged his party with the BJP and became a Member of Parliament from the North-West Delhi constituency. After not getting a ticket from BJP in 2019, he joined Congress. He is currently serving as the National President of the Unorganized Workers and Employees Department of the Congress. He is also the President of the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations.
