In Bhind, Congress workers staged a protest at the Collectorate on Thursday against rising inflation, unemployment and unannounced power cuts. The agitation, organised under the leadership of the District Rural Congress Committee, saw participation from a large number of workers, farmers, women and youth. Protesters took out a rally, raised slogans against the government and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President through the administration. During the protest, workers targeted the BJP government over inflation and unemployment issues. Traditional modes of transport such as bullock carts, tongas, camel carts, bicycles and tractors were also used during the demonstration, drawing public attention. See pictures Protest regarding inflation and unemployment Rural Congress district president Ramshesh Baghel said prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas have continuously increased under the present government, severely affecting common people. He said youth are struggling for jobs, while farmers are upset over not getting proper prices for their produce. He also alleged that continuous power cuts have made life difficult for people. Warning of intensified agitation City Congress district president Dharmendra Singh Bhadauria said the Congress party has always fought for the rights of farmers, labourers, youth and the common public. He accused the government of ignoring public issues. In the memorandum, Congress leaders demanded control over inflation, employment opportunities for unemployed youth, proper procurement of crops from farmers, an end to power cuts, and better safety for women and students. Congress leaders warned that if the issues are not resolved, the agitation would be intensified further.
