Panic broke out at the Gwalior Collectorate premises on Tuesday evening when a fire erupted due to a short circuit in the electrical DP located in the premises. Within moments, the fire took a massive form and reached the rooms of the Collectorate office. Important documents and other materials kept in the rooms were reduced to ashes due to the fire. The incident is reported to have occurred around 7:30 PM on Tuesday evening. As soon as information about the fire was received, there was chaos among administrative officers, and senior officials immediately reached the spot. Meanwhile, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and got engaged in extinguishing the fire. Fire personnel are continuously spraying water trying to control the fire, so that the fire does not spread to other rooms. As of now, the extent of damage caused by the fire has not been assessed. In the preliminary investigation, the cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit.
