A major fraud linked to the government healthcare system has been exposed in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district. Three fake docto₹working at a government Aarogya Kendra and Sanjeevani Clinic have been arrested. The MBBS degrees and Medical Council of India registrations found with them were discovered to be fake. The accused had allegedly purchased the forged degrees for ₹8 to 10 lakh. According to information, the arrested accused have been identified as Dr Kumar Sachin Yadav, a resident of Gwalior, Dr Rajpal Gaur from Sehore, and Dr Ajay Maurya from Morena. Ajay was currently living in Jabalpur. Investigation revealed that he too possessed a fake MBBS degree. Accused arrested from Damoh and Jabalpur According to police, Sachin Yadav and Rajpal Gaur were working at a government Aarogya Kendra and Sanjeevani Clinic in Damoh. Meanwhile, Ajay Maurya had been working as a doctor at Sanjeevani Hospital in Jabalpur for the past two-and-a-half years. Fake MBBS degrees were found with all three accused. The names of Jiwaji University and Rewa Medical College have also surfaced in connection with the fake degree case. The real masterminds involved in preparing fake degrees will soon be arrested. Police are also investigating how many more people are connected to the network. Letter Written to NHM Bhopal to Cancel Appointment Damoh CMHO Rajesh Athya said both fake docto₹had been appointed through the National Health Mission (NHM). Their MBBS degrees were found to be fake during verification, following which a letter was sent to the NHM office in Bhopal recommending cancellation of their appointments. The authority to terminate their appointments lies with NHM Bhopal. Real qualification something else, job as MBBS doctor Investigation revealed that Dr Sachin Yadav actually possesses a valid BDS degree. He had been appointed at the Sanjeevani Clinic around five months ago. Rajpal Gaur had been working there for nearly one year and was found to possess a BHMS degree. However, neither of them had a valid MBBS degree or a genuine Medical Council of India registration. Both are accused of preparing fake documents to secure jobs in the government healthcare system. Used to treat 30-40 patients daily According to CMHO Rajesh Athya, both docto₹treated around 30 to 40 patients every day. He said only OPD services are run at the Sanjeevani Clinic and serious patients are not treated there. He added that preliminary investigation has not revealed any instance where dangerous medicines were administered that could have threatened patients’ lives. Both docto₹were being paid salaries of ₹70,000 to ₹80,000 per month. Registration Not Found on Website A major revelation came during verification of the degrees. When the registration numbe₹were checked on the Medical Council of India website, no valid registration was found under the names provided by the accused. Investigation revealed that the registration numbe₹submitted by the docto₹were actually registered in the names of other individuals. This exposed the entire fraud, following which police launched an investigation. Degrees of All Docto₹in Damoh District Will Be Investigated After the matter surfaced, the health department ordered verification of degrees of docto₹across the district. According to the CMHO office, six Sanjeevani Clinics are currently operating in the city with four docto₹posted there. Two of them were found to be fake doctors, while the degrees of the remaining two were found to be genuine. Now, documents of all regular, NHM and bond-based docto₹working in Damoh district will be verified. According to official figures, 38 docto₹are posted at the district hospital, 15 under NHM and around 28 at block level. The health department is verifying the degrees and registrations of all of them.
