Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has become costlier in Madhya Pradesh following a fresh price hike of up to ₹3 per kilogram. In Bhopal, the price of 1 kg of CNG has now reached ₹93.75. The revised rates will be effective from today. The latest increase comes shortly after petrol and diesel prices were also raised across the state. Supply network and operators in Madhya Pradesh Three major companies—Think Gas, GAIL, and Avantika Gas—supply CNG across Madhya Pradesh. Think Gas supplies CNG in Bhopal, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, and nearby districts. Avantika Gas operates in the Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior divisions, while GAIL supplies CNG in several other districts. Second price hike in two months This is the second CNG price increase in the Bhopal region within two months. Earlier, rates were increased by around ₹2 per kilogram. With the latest revision, CNG has become nearly ₹5 per kilogram costlier in just two months. Rising demand for CNG vehicles Over the past three years, CNG vehicle sales in Bhopal have increased by nearly 50%. Dealerships report selling around 10 to 15 CNG vehicles daily. The growth is mainly driven by better mileage compared to petrol and diesel, along with historically lower fuel costs. Petrol and Diesel prices also increased Just two days earlier, oil marketing companies increased petrol and diesel prices by up to ₹3 per litre. The revised rates came into effect on May 15. Across Madhya Pradesh, fuel prices have increased by up to ₹3.50 per litre. Updated fuel prices in major cities In Pandhurna and Mandla, petrol prices have reached up to ₹111.29 per litre, among the highest in the state. Diesel prices in Maihar, Alirajpur, and Anuppur have gone up to ₹96.50 per litre. Other essential commodities also getting costlier Along with fuel, milk prices have also increased in the state. Brands such as Sanchi, Amul, and Mother Dairy have recently raised packaged milk prices by up to ₹2 per litre.
