A 7-year-old girl was kidnapped and murdered in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused, who was the family’s neighbour, took the child from a wedding house in the middle of the night. He tied her hands and feet with a scarf, crushed her head with a stone and threw the blood-stained body into a cave-like pit. After the murder, he returned to the wedding house and behaved normally. Police have arrested Ramdeen Jatav in the case. During questioning, he admitted that he suspected an affair between his wife Rammaya and the girl’s grandfather Raghunath Jatav. Police said he killed the child out of hatred and revenge. The accused kept pretending to search for the girl with others, but investigators caught him after finding the scarf used in the crime. Accused’s own sister’s house had a ‘Bhaat’ ceremony According to the police, in Ramlal Ka Pura village, Chinnauni police station area, there was a ‘Bhaat’ ceremony at the house of Meera Jatav, the accused Ramdeen Jatav’s own sister. It was a wedding atmosphere and relatives had arrived from far and wide. Tanu’s family also came to attend this ceremony. Tanu’s grandfather Raghunath Jatav, father Balram Jatav, mother Mithlesh Jatav, and her sisters, 14-year-old Muskan, 11-year-old Ashika, and 9-year-old Prachi were present at the event. Everyone had arrived by tractor. Songs and music continued late into the night, and then people slept wherever they found space. The accused was living in suspicion regarding his wife and Raghunath The investigation revealed that the accused Ramdeen Jatav (40), son of Dauji Jatav, was a resident of Itoura village in Kailaras and a neighbour of Tanu’s family. He worked as a goat herder, but Raghunath Jatav handled the sale of goats and financial transactions. The accused felt that even his household decisions were made at Raghunath’s behest. His wife, Ramamaya, also ignored his words and gave importance to Raghunath Jatav. Because of this, anger, inferiority complex, and suspicion gradually grew in his mind. A conspiracy was hatched to “teach Raghunath a lesson” According to the police, the accused had already decided to “teach Raghunath Jatav a lesson.” Instead of directly attacking, he targeted the weakest link in their family. He got an opportunity during the Bhaat ceremony. He decided that he would kill Raghunath’s 7-year-old granddaughter, Tanu, to inflict lifelong pain on the entire family. With this thought, he kept looking for an opportunity throughout the night. See pictures related to the incident Tanu was picked up while sleeping at 3:30 AM Police investigation revealed that between approximately 3:30 and 4 AM, when everyone was in deep sleep, the accused quietly approached Tanu. He picked up the child and took her to a deserted area about 800 meters away from the village. There was a cave-like pit there. The accused first tied the child’s hands with a gamcha (scarf). After that, he crushed Tanu’s head with a stone. After the murder, he hid the body in the cave-like pit so that no one would find out quickly. After hiding the body, he returned to the wedding house After this, he returned to the house where the ‘Bhaat’ ceremony was taking place and started behaving normally, as if nothing had happened. According to the police, he remained seated among the other people and kept trying to appear normal. In the morning, the child was found missing, causing a commotion When the family woke up in the morning, Tanu was nowhere to be seen. Initially, people thought she might be with a relative, but after a long search, when she wasn’t found, a commotion broke out in the wedding house. The family and villagers set out to search for the child. Search began in fields, deserted roads, and surrounding areas. During this time, the accused Ramdeen also pretended to search for Tanu with others, so that no one would suspect him. Tanu’s body found in a cave-like pit A short while later, Tanu’s body was found in a cave-like pit about 800 meters from the village. The child was lying in a blood-soaked condition. Her hands were tied. Her head was badly crushed. Upon seeing the body, the family members screamed. The joy of the wedding turned into mourning in an instant. The biggest clue in the police investigation came from the gamcha (scarf) with which the child’s hands were tied. Tanu’s grandfather, Raghunath Jatav, told the police that he had seen the same gamcha a day earlier at the Bhaat ceremony on the head of the accused Ramdeen. Photographer Sent Pictures on Mobile After this, the police contacted the photographer of the event. The photographer had gone to another wedding, but he sent pictures of the event on his mobile. In the pictures, the accused Ramdeen was seen wearing the same gamcha on his head, with which the child’s hands were found tied. Accused only changed Gamcha, kept wearing the same clothes During the investigation, the police found out that after the incident, the accused had only changed his towel (gamcha), while his clothes were the same. This became the biggest clue. Based on suspicion, the police took Ramdeen into custody and started interrogation. Initially, he kept trying to save himself. Confessed to the crime during interrogation During police interrogation, the accused confessed to killing Tanu. He had been living in mental stress and hatred for a long time because of his wife and Raghunath Jatav. He felt that he had no importance in the house. His wife always prioritised Raghunath’s words. In this anger and desire for revenge, he plotted the murder of the innocent girl. The police have also recovered the stone used in the incident. The accused was arrested and presented in court, from where he was sent to jail.
