Three months after an MBBS student committed suicide in the Kohefiza area of Bhopal, the owner of the same house also committed suicide late Saturday night. After the house owner’s suicide, his wife made serious allegations. She says that the student’s relatives were threatening to implicate her husband in a false case. Also, the police would call them to the station in the name of statements and make them sit for hours. According to the wife, due to this, he had become depressed and committed suicide. She says that before the suicide, her husband had mentioned several times about being harassed by Roshni’s family and the police. Suffered depression due to allegations from the student’s family The 19-year-old student of Gandhi Medical College had committed suicide in February. The owner of the same house, Vijay Rathore, committed suicide at home late Saturday night. The family alleges that Vijay Rathore was in depression due to allegations and mental harassment from the student’s family. This is why he committed suicide. Family had expressed suspicion of murder Roshni had come to live in a rented house in Kohefiza four months ago. After the death, medical students and family members staged a sit-in protest at Kohefiza police station throughout the night, expressing suspicion of murder. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police had formed an SIT. During the investigation, a suicide note was found on her mobile, in which she mentioned the pressure of studies and the difficult MBBS curriculum. The wife of house owner Vijay Rathore alleges that despite this, the family harassed Vijay and her, due to which he started living under mental stress and committed suicide. Demand for action against student’s family Karuna Rathore alleged that the student’s family members came to their home and were pressuring them by making murder accusations. She has demanded action against the student’s family. She said that her husband was innocent, yet he was subjected to mental torture, which led him to take this suicidal step. Action based on family’s statement Kohefiza Police Station In-charge KG Shukla informed that a case has been registered in the matter. The deceased’s daughter is currently in Bengaluru. After her arrival, a post-mortem will be conducted, and further action will be taken based on the statements of family members. MBBS Student’s body was found in bathroom The student Roshni’s body was found in the bathroom with a bottle of acid lying nearby. In the initial investigation, no suicide note was found at the scene. Later, during the forensic examination of the mobile phone, a suicide note dated February 17 was found, in which Roshni had written – “Sorry Mummy-Papa, clearing NEET is easy, but studying MBBS is even more difficult than that.” According to police, this suicide note was sent to herself on WhatsApp between 1 to 1:30 AM, a few hours before her death.
