Ahmedabad iPhone e-auction was an instant hit as hundreds of buyers rushed to grab seized iPhones and apple watches put up for auction by the customs department, reported, news daily, ‘AhmedabadMirror.’ The first lot attracted 265 bids before closing at ₹5.18 lakh. The second lot received 205 bids, pushing the amount to ₹13.06 lakh, according to the news daily. Officials also hinted at another major auction, as around 158 additional seized mobile phones were lying in the customs department, reported ‘AhmedabadMirror.’ Background: The Ahmedabad Customs department had hosted a massive e-auction of iPhones and Apple watches at Ahmedabad airport on Friday, 8 May, 2026. A total of 86 seized iPhones, 1 Redmi smartphone and 27 Apple watches were put up for the e-auction round. Items in e-auction: The Customs department had seized these electronic items from passengers attempting to smuggle them into India between 2019 and 2023. iPhone models: According to news daily ‘Ahmedabad Mirror’ the models range from the iPhone 11 series all the way up to the iPhone 15 series. Some of these models were bought by the passengers as brand new while some were already used.
