Two friends were burned alive after a speeding car crashed into an electric pole and caught fire on the Dabra-Gwalior Highway in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday night. The accident happened near Arru Tiraha. A third youth, who was sitting in the back seat, survived the incident. According to police, the three friends were returning to Dabra after attending a wedding ceremony in Gwalior. The car lost control, hit an electric pole and overturned on the road. Firecrackers were kept in the trunk of the car. Sparks from the power line reportedly ignited the gunpowder, causing a massive fire within minutes. The two youths sitting in the front seats were trapped inside the burning car and died on the spot. The third passenger managed to escape and survived the accident. Accident happened while returning from a wedding ceremony The deceased were identified as Awadhesh Vishwakarma (32) and Ramji Soni (33), residents of Chhatarpur. Awadhesh worked in finance. His in-laws’ house is in Bamor, Shivpuri. Avinash Jha is his brother-in-law. They had come from Chhatarpur to Shivpuri to attend Avinash’s friend’s wedding in Gwalior. Avinash, Awadhesh, and Ramji went from Shivpuri to Gwalior by car. While returning, they kept the leftover firecrackers from the wedding celebration in the car. Awadhesh was driving the car. He dozed off, and the car collided with an electric pole. In the accident, the pole broke in the middle, and an 11 KV line fell on the car. Accident caught on CCTV The accident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed at Kuku Dhaba. In the 10-minute footage, the car is seen colliding with an electric pole. Seeing the incident, people in another car arrived at the scene. They try to save the people trapped in the car. About two and a half minutes after the accident, sparks emerge from the car. Due to fear, people back away. Awadhesh Vishwakarma and Ramji Soni, trapped in the car, could not get out. Due to panic, no one could go near the car for long. A young man also tried to pull out the people trapped in the car. After about 6 and a half minutes, sparks emerged again, and people moved away once more. After about 10 minutes, fierce flames started rising from the car. Life saved as the rear door opened After the collision, both front doors of the car were locked, but the rear doors opened. Avinash was sitting in the back. He fell out, which saved his life. Meanwhile, Avdhesh and Ramji got trapped inside the car. Avinash and passersby tried to extinguish the fire, but it could not be controlled. Upon receiving information, Dial-112 and other vehicles reached the spot, but by then the fire had become fierce. In the morning, the skeletons of both youths were recovered from inside the car. Avdhesh Vishwakarma was married two years ago. He has a 9-month-old son. Ramji Soni was involved in the gold and silver trade.
