In Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, the nephew of former BJP MLA Velsingh Bhuria from Sardarpur assembly constituency has raped a young woman. He committed the crime for 6 years by giving false promises of marriage. He committed the crime several times by taking her to the former MLA’s house as well. After the engagement, he refused to marry. According to information, the accused is a lawyer at the Sardarpur Civil Court. Amidst allegations of rape against the young woman, he is about to marry another young woman. The wedding mandap is on May 14. The victim has filed an FIR against the accused Bhupendra Singh Bhuria at the Rajgarh police station. The victim was trapped by sending messages The victim told the police that about 6 years ago, Bhupendra Singh Bhuria had contacted her by sending messages. At that time, she was living at her uncle’s house in Rajgarh and studying in BA second year. As the conversation progressed, a friendship developed between the two. According to the complaint, the accused proposed marriage to the young woman. The young woman says that she fell for his words, and a romantic relationship developed between them. It is alleged that by giving assurance of marriage, the accused had physical relations with her several times. Engagement in 2024, then the behaviour changed According to the victim, after a long relationship, an engagement took place in 2024 with the consent of both families, according to social customs and traditions. It is alleged that even after the engagement, the accused continued to have relations by giving an assurance of marriage. However, for about the past year, he started delaying regarding the marriage. When the victim pressured for marriage and mentioned filing a police complaint, the accused said – “I will kill you.” He also threatened to commit suicide. Wedding preparations underway in the village As the matter escalated, the woman’s family contacted the accused’s family and proposed marriage. According to the complaint, despite this, the accused’s side refused the marriage. Wedding preparations have already begun in the accused’s village, Nayapura Bhilkhedi. Complaint filed after receiving the wedding card The victim alleged that about three days ago, she received information that Bhupendra Singh Bhuria’s marriage has been fixed for May 14. After receiving the accused’s wedding card, she reached the Rajgarh police station to file a complaint. The woman alleges that supporters of the accused were already present at the police station and pressure was put on her not to file a report. She has also mentioned the political influence of former MLA Velsingh Bhuria. Accused did not receive phone The official statement from the accused party has not come forward in the case. Bhupendra Singh Bhuria was called several times, but he did not receive the phone. FIR after young woman’s complaint Rajgarh Police Station In-charge Sameer Patidar informed that based on the young woman’s complaint, a case has been registered against accused Bhupendra Singh Bhuria under BNS sections 69, 351(3), and 332(B). The matter is being investigated. Former MLA Velsingh Bhuria’s old connection with controversies The name of former BJP MLA from Sardarpur, Velsingh Bhuria, has come up in several controversies before. He was elected as MLA in 2013 during the BJP wave. During his tenure, he remained in discussion for controversial statements and allegations of misbehaviour by family members with police personnel. Due to his controversial image, in the 2018 Assembly elections, the BJP denied him a ticket and made Sanjay Baghel the candidate. However, the BJP lost that election. Later, in the 2023 Assembly elections, the party fielded Velsingh Bhuria again, but he could not win the election.
