People in seven villages along Bairasia Road in Bhopal are living in fear due to continuous tiger movement in the area. Over the past 10 days, the tiger has reportedly hunted five cows and buffaloes, forcing villagers to avoid their usual routes at night and take detours of 5 to 6 kilometres for safety. Tiger sightings have been reported in Kanera village and nearby areas, including Karondkhurd, Kadaiya, Chhapar, Agariya, Mugaliya Kot, and Chanchad. District Panchayat Vice President Mohan Singh Jat said the tiger is frequently seen along the banks of the Halali River. The tiger was first spotted in Kanera around 10 days ago. On Thursday-Friday night, it allegedly killed another cow. Tiger hunting at night Villagers said that the tiger hunts only at night. Due to this, farmers have stopped going to the fields at night. District Panchayat Vice President Mohan Singh Jat said that many people have changed their routes. They are traveling 5 to 6 km around to avoid encountering the tiger. Forest department was informed, but no trace found Villagers have informed the forest department about the tiger’s movement in the area. A forest department team carried out a search operation, but the animal could not be traced. According to villagers, the tiger is entering the villages through hilly terrain and routes along the riverbank. It has been targeting cattle tied in barns and at houses located on the outskirts of the villages.
