The farmer father-son duo, who were sent to jail for creating a ruckus during a public hearing in Khandwa, were released on Wednesday morning. As soon as they came out, the farmer made serious allegations against Collector Rishav Gupta. He said that the administration is acting dictatorially to protect a corrupt officer and that they were sent to jail for speaking the truth. On Tuesday, Congress protested. Bail was granted at night, but the release happened on Wednesday morning. After their release, Congress members brought the father-son duo in a buggy to Gandhi Bhawan and chanted slogans against the BJP government and officials. Farmers Shyam Kumrawat and his father Ramnarayan Kumrawat said, The Collector is very arrogant, he calls us goons, whereas he himself is indulging in hooliganism. Had told the Collector – Your officer took a bribe During the public hearing on Tuesday, farmer Shyam Kumrawat submitted an application to the Collector, demanding a path/way. He said that he and his father have been struggling with the problem of the path for three years. At this, the Collector told him to move on. Shyam said – You are not paying attention, because your officer had taken a bribe. You are not listening to our problem to save the officer. The farmer said, “You are all corrupt, if the problem is not resolved, I will die.” It is alleged that as soon as he heard this, the Collector got agitated and called the police, having him locked up in the City Magistrate’s office, and later he was sent to jail. The City Magistrate, stating that the jail gates were closed, asked them to come the next day. In protest, Congress started a sit-in at the Collectorate. City Congress President Pratibha Raghuvanshi called PCC Chief Jitu Patwari, after which he spoke to the Collector. At 8:35 PM, the magistrate arrived and granted bail, but the release happened only on Wednesday morning. Despite the road being registered in the 1981 registry, neighbors blocked it in 2019.
