5-year-old daughter of defence officer raped in Bhopal:75-year-old neighbour arrested, victim had gone to play with his granddaughter

A case of rape of a five-year-old kindergarten student has come to light in Bhopal. The crime was committed by a 75-year-old neighbour. According to SI Mukta Sharma of Habibganj police station, the incident took place on May 3. The victim’s father is a Defence Officer. On Tuesday, the accused was arrested and sent to jail. The accused lives with his daughter and granddaughter. The daughter of the Defence Officer, who lives in the neighbourhood, plays with his granddaughter. On the day of the incident, the child went to the accused’s house to play. During this, the accused took the child to a room. There, he committed an indecent act with her. The child told Grandpa (neighbour) committed a dirty act with her After returning home, the child complained to her mother about pain in her private parts at night. When the mother checked, there were scratch marks. After this, she was taken to the doctor. The doctor expressed apprehension that the child had been molested. After this, the mother reached the police station. During interrogation, the child revealed that her maternal grandfather, who lived in the neighbourhood, had molested her. Police have registered a case under POCSO and rape charges and arrested the accused advocate. The accused confessed to the crime, court sent him to jail In the initial interrogation, the accused kept misleading the police. Later, he admitted that he had molested the child. On Tuesday evening, the police presented him in court. From there, he was sent to jail.
