In Harda, when a woman went into labor pain, she tried to deliver the baby herself. During this, the newborn’s torso came out separately while the head remained stuck inside the woman’s abdomen. Seeing her condition, the family members panicked. They placed the torso in a polythene bag and took the woman to the district hospital. Here, doctors performed a normal delivery and removed the baby’s head from the woman’s abdomen. Her condition is stable. The incident is from Mangrul village on Friday. After conducting the postmortem of the newborn, the police have proceeded with the investigation of the case. Pain started while working in the field 19-year-old Anju, a resident of Maida village, had come to Mangrul with her husband Jitendra Bachhanya to work as a laborer. While working in Vishnu’s field here, she started experiencing labor pain around 5 PM on Friday evening. Instead of going to the hospital, Anju tried to deliver the baby herself in the field. During this, the newborn’s torso got separated from the head. Hearing Anju’s screams, family members reached the spot. She was laid down in the vehicle. The baby’s torso was placed in a polythene bag. They reached Harda District Hospital late in the evening. Here, the female doctors removed the baby’s head that was stuck inside Anju’s womb. Had previously undergone pre-mature delivery Jitendra Bachhanya said – Our marriage took place three years ago. In July 2025, Anju was seven months pregnant. When she suddenly experienced pain, we took her to Handia Community Health Center, where she gave birth to a daughter. Due to the premature delivery, the baby girl remained admitted in the district hospital’s SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) for about one and a half months. When she recovered a bit, we brought her home, where she died after a few days. Baby was 42 weeks old, the leg portion came out Dr. Gambhir Patel informed that the newborn was approximately 24 weeks old. Currently, Anju’s condition is out of danger. Family members stated that Anju had previously given birth to a seven-month-old baby girl who later died. This is the second time she has had a pre-mature delivery. Gynecologist Dr. Naveen Chaudhary said – Anju reported that the baby’s feet had come out. She tried to pull the baby out. When she applied force, the head and torso separated. Doctors said, ‘Hospital checkup was necessary’ Dr. Chaudhary said – After the first pre-mature delivery, the couple needed to be very careful. They should have come to the hospital for regular checkups. In this examination, the patient’s cervical length, meaning the opening of the uterus, is checked. If the length is short, a stitch is placed. If labor pain increases and the water bag ruptures, one should immediately contact a doctor.
