In the Sitamau area of Mandsaur district, a woman allegedly trapped a young railway employee in a ‘love trap’ and extorted millions of rupees from him. Following a complaint filed by the victim’s wife, police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The accused, Pooja alias Siya Chauhan, allegedly targeted the victim, knowing he was a railway employee. She reportedly began contacting him via phone and social media from April 25, 2025, gradually building a romantic relationship before extorting money. Videos made after administering intoxicants It is alleged that the accused woman took the victim to a house in the Ramtekri area of Mandsaur, where she mixed an intoxicating substance in a cold drink, rendering him unconscious. During this time, objectionable photos and videos of him were made. Upon regaining consciousness, the accused started blackmailing him by threatening to make the videos viral and implicate him in a false rape case. Extortion of ₹21 lakhs Case registered, investigation underway Disturbed by continuous mental and financial exploitation, the victim’s family finally lodged a complaint with the police. The police have registered a case against the accused woman under sections 308(6), 296(A), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have started an investigation. According to Sitamau Police Station In-charge Kamlesh Prajapati, considering the seriousness of the case, every aspect is being thoroughly investigated. It is also being ascertained whether other people are involved in this honey trap gang or not. Different teams have been formed for the arrest of the accused.
