In the Indore transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, the accused wife Sonam Raghuvanshi has been granted bail. Sonam is lodged in Shillong jail in Meghalaya. The court there granted her relief after the fourth hearing. When Dainik Bhaskar spoke to Shillong SP Vivek Syem, he said the court granted bail by exercising its authority. Meanwhile, in Indore, Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi said he had spoken to a lawyer in Shillong. Sonam had received bail yesterday itself, and she may be released from jail today. The DSP there, Das, also confirmed that Sonam has been granted bail. On being asked on what grounds bail was granted, he said that when she was picked up from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, the police had not informed why Sonam was being taken into custody. On this basis, Sonam’s lawyer presented arguments. He added that he was not called for the hearing. An application for Raj Kushwaha’s bail has also been filed, and they will approach the High Court. Raja was murdered on May 23, 2025 Raja Raghuvanshi’s marriage to Sonam took place on May 11, 2025 this year. Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raja had gone to Shillong in Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 21, where they went missing during the honeymoon on May 23. After 10 days, police recovered his mutilated body from a 30-foot deep gorge, which had several wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon. Sonam was missing at that time. After this, she surrendered in UP. After interrogating her, Akash, Anand, and Vishal were arrested. Sonam had a love relationship with Raj Kushwaha. However, her family had denied this matter. Wife Sonam had called Raja to a remote location on the pretext of sightseeing. The other three accused of murder had also followed them. Then they killed him by stabbing him with two knives, one of which was later recovered from the forest. Sonam fled from the scene and later surrendered before the police in Uttar Pradesh. All five accused, including Sonam and Raj, are currently in judicial custody.
