The case of the suspended TI (Station House Officer) in Indore’s infamous gambling incident has taken a new turn. During the hearing in the High Court on Monday, while strict questions were raised about the police’s action, the TI alleged that after catching the gamblers, he was pressured to remove the name of a female IAS officer from the FIR. The court asked, When the action was taken, why were the statements of the IAS officer not taken, and why were there no CCTVs at the farmhouse? It also commented that if a police officer on duty is suspended, then no one will take impartial action. After the hearing, which lasted for about two hours on Monday, the court reserved its decision. Gambling caught at IAS farmhouse On the night of March 10-11, people were caught gambling at the farmhouse of Vandana Vaidya, MD of MP Finance Corporation and a 2009 batch IAS officer, in Indore. Following this, Manpur TI Lokendra Singh Hihore, SI Mithun Osari, and ASI Resham Girwal were suspended. A few days later, the SI and ASI were reinstated, but action against the TI continued, and he was attached to Burhanpur. The court also sought a response from the government on this, but no clear answer was received. The TI has filed two petitions challenging the suspension and the charge sheet. The decision on the suspension is reserved, while the hearing on the charge sheet is pending.
