Speeding bus kills woman in Morena:Morena accident leaves victim trapped under tyres

A 40-year-old woman was killed in a horrific road accident near the Jaura Road barrier intersection in Morena after being run over by a speeding passenger bus on Monday. The woman, who was crossing the road, got trapped under the bus (MP06P-1655) and was dragged for nearly 30 feet after the driver failed to stop, resulting in her death on the spot. Victim identified, body recovered from under bus The incident occurred around 10:15 am when the bus was travelling from Jaura towards Morena. The victim has been identified as Kamla Baghel (40), a resident of Bari Pura and wife of Uttam Baghel. After the collision, she became trapped under the bus. Civil Lines police reached the spot after being alerted and recovered the body from beneath the vehicle following a difficult rescue effort. She said, “We were crossing the road when the bus came at high speed and ran over Kamla. We screamed for help, but the driver did not stop. She was dragged along the road.” Driver absconds, bus seized Following the incident, the bus driver fled the scene. Police have seized the vehicle and launched a search operation to trace the accused. Station House Officer (TI) Udaybhan Yadav of Civil Lines police station confirmed the incident and said the victim’s family has been informed. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Investigation underway Police have initiated an investigation and are working to locate the absconding driver.
