Gas leakage explosion kills retired engineer in Rajgarh:Skin peeled off after being burnt in fire; wife also injured

A massive explosion occurred due to gas leakage in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. In the accident, 85-year-old retired engineer Suresh Singh Bhalla, a resident of Shivdham Colony in Byavra, died, while his wife Padmavati Bhalla was severely burnt. Treatment is ongoing at the hospital. According to information, the incident occurred around 6 AM in the morning when an attempt was being made to light the stove in the kitchen. Gas had been leaking slowly throughout the night from the gas cylinder installed in the house. The gas accumulated in the closed room, but the family did not get any hint of it. Hearing the sound, people from nearby came out of their homes. Neighbors helped in extinguishing the fire and rescuing the injured. Died while being taken to hospital, wife’s treatment continues In the accident, Suresh Singh Bhalla was burnt up to about 80%. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Byavara, from where he was referred to Bhopal in critical condition. However, he died on the way. The couple had been living in Byavara for 13 years, had no children His wife Padmavati Bhalla is also burnt and her treatment is ongoing. Originally residents of Panipat, Haryana, this couple had been living in Byavara for about 13 years. They had no children and only the two of them lived together. Police have registered a case and started investigation Dehat Thana Police ASI Ganga Prasad Sahu said that after the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the relatives. A case has been registered in the matter and investigation has been started. In the initial investigation, gas leakage is emerging as the cause of the accident, however, technical aspects are also being investigated.
