doctor-alleges-honeytrap,-says-he-regained-consciousness-naked:claims-woman-posed-as-therapist,-later-filed-rape-complaint

A 30-year-old woman from Gwalior filed a rape complaint against a doctor in February this year, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted her in a hotel in Bhopal under the pretext of treatment.
The FIR, registered on February 17 at MP Nagar police station in Bhopal, created a stir. The woman claimed she had approached the doctor, Ambrish Sengar, for medical treatment. Initially, things appeared normal, but later the doctor allegedly persuaded her to travel to Bhopal, citing better treatment facilities. Events took a turn after arrival in Bhopal According to the complaint, the woman came to Bhopal with the doctor on February 14. However, instead of taking her to a hospital, he allegedly checked her into a hotel in MP Nagar Zone-2.
Suspicious of the situation, the woman informed her husband over the phone and expressed concern. Woman alleges she was drugged and assaulted The complainant stated that later that night, the doctor gave her some medicine, claiming it was part of the treatment. Shortly after consuming it, she felt dizzy and lost consciousness.
She alleged that the assault took place while she was unconscious. Delay in complaint due to fear and social pressure The woman said her husband reached Bhopal by the next morning. However, due to fear and concerns about social stigma, the couple did not immediately approach the police and returned to Gwalior.
Later, when the doctor allegedly tried to contact her again, she returned to Bhopal with her husband and filed a complaint. Doctor claims he was trapped in a honeytrap Doctor Ambrish Sengar has denied the allegations, calling the case a pre-planned conspiracy. He claims that he himself was the victim of a honeytrap.
According to him, due to certain health issues, he and his wife were exploring massage therapy options when they came into contact with a woman who introduced herself as a professional therapist. Doctor alleges he was drugged and robbed The doctor stated that the woman later suggested meeting in Bhopal, and he arranged her travel. After reaching Bhopal, she offered to conduct a session at a hotel.
He claimed that after returning from an event, the woman gave him a drink, following which he felt dizzy and lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness, he found himself naked. Allegations of blackmail and extortion The doctor alleged that he was threatened with video recordings and blackmailed for money. He claimed that cash and gold were taken from him and that ₹5 lakh was demanded.
He managed to leave and later filed a complaint through an online police portal in Gwalior.
His lawyer, Rakesh Sharma, stated that the investigation revealed a pattern consistent with similar alleged honeytrap cases. Court grants anticipatory bail According to the defence, the rape case was filed to pressure the doctor after he lodged his complaint. It was also claimed that attempts were made to create a narrative at the police station beforehand.
The matter reached court, and during the hearing on March 18, both sides presented documents, timelines, and records of past cases.
Observing prima facie elements resembling a honeytrap case, the court granted anticipatory bail to the doctor. Case raises questions over contradictory claims The case presents two conflicting narratives—one alleging sexual assault under intoxication, and the other claiming a planned honeytrap and extortion attempt.
Further investigation is underway to establish the facts.
