A mother and her son died in a collision with a tractor-trolley near Mangrul naka in Handia police station area of Harda district on Tuesday night, while returning after shopping for a wedding. A 12-year-old nephew travelling with them was seriously injured. The deceased have been identified as Abhishek Kir (21) and his mother Narmadi Bai (45), residents of village Unchan. Abhishek was scheduled to get married on April 19. Police registered a case and kept both bodies in the district hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The injured nephew has been advised referral to Bhopal. Collision with tractor returning after unloading pipes According to information, Abhishek, along with his mother and 12-year-old nephew Shubham Kir, had gone to Harda for wedding shopping. Around 8:15 pm on Tuesday, they were returning to their village on a motorcycle. Near Mangrul naka, close to the forest department outpost, their bike collided with a tractor-trolley that was heading towards Handia after unloading pipes. Both Abhishek and his mother suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. Shubham sustained serious injuries to his nose. Mother worship ceremony was scheduled for April 17 After the accident, all three were taken to the Community Health Centre in Handia, where doctors declared the mother and son dead. Elder brother Bhagwansingh Kir said that Abhishek’s wedding procession was to leave for village Gadarapura on April 19. A Mata Pujan ceremony was scheduled for April 17, followed by the Mandap ritual on April 18. Abhishek was the younger of two brothers and had three sisters. His father has been mentally unwell for the past few years and also suffers from hearing issues. Bodies kept in mortuary, post-mortem to be conducted today Police have begun an investigation in the matter. Injured Shubham was initially admitted to the district hospital and later advised referral to Bhopal. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary and will be handed over to the family after post-mortem on Wednesday morning.
