In Indore, a Mayor-in-Council (MIC) meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav. At the beginning of the meeting, a vote of thanks was passed in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which was unanimously approved. The Mayor said the Act is not only about empowerment but also about strengthening women’s leadership. He added that the initiative by the Prime Minister would ensure representation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha, helping in the vision of a developed India. The MIC resolved to take the objectives of the Act to the public. During the meeting, an additional proposal was placed by General Administration in-charge Nandkishore Pahadia, suggesting that all municipal events should begin and end with the national song and national anthem. This proposal was also approved unanimously.
