A shocking incident has been reported from Niwari district on the Madhya Pradesh–Uttar Pradesh border, where a young woman was allegedly beheaded. The victim was to get married in a few days. Around 100 metres from the crime spot, the dead body of a young man from Uttar Pradesh was found hanging from a tree. The case is from the Poocha Ki Pahadi area under Sendri police station limits in Dhimarpura. According to information, the deceased woman has been identified as Varsha Kewat (20), a resident of Sindoor area in Sagar district. The deceased man has been identified as Harendra Kewat (24), a resident of Sironi in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Police suspect that the man may have first killed the woman by slitting her throat and later died by suicide. After an initial search failed, a missing complaint was filed at the police station. Based on mobile location tracking and contacts, the police traced the case to the MP-UP border area under Sendri police limits. Youth found hanging from a noose On Sunday evening, police reached the hilly area of Poocha Ki Pahadi, where they first found the woman’s body. The condition clearly indicated murder. A short distance away, the man’s body was found hanging from a tree. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police investigation underway It is suspected that both knew each other and were in contact over phone calls, which led them to the isolated location. However, police have not confirmed any relationship angle so far, and family members have also denied any such connection. Niwari SP Dr. Rai Singh Narwaria said that investigation is underway and call detail records of both are being examined. The FSL team is also conducting a detailed inspection. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot. A fish-cutting knife was found near the woman’s body.
