Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav reached Ashta in Sehore district on Sunday afternoon. He held a roadshow in the town, which started from Kannauj Road Mandir Gate. The roadshow received a grand welcome with flower garlands at several locations and concluded at Sandipani School, where the Chief Minister also visited classrooms and interacted with students. Development works worth ₹115 crore inaugurated The Chief Minister inaugurated various development projects worth around ₹115.32 crore. These include an Anganwadi building in Ward-16 Ghanshyampura of Ashta Municipality, ghats on the Parvati River, river improvement and culvert construction in Jawar on the Nevaj River, Sandipani school buildings in Ashta and Jawar, a sub-tehsil office in Siddhikganj, an SDM office in Ashta, a primary health centre in Mehtwada, and bridges connecting Ashta–Shujalpur road. See pictures… Foundation laid for projects worth ₹69 crore The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for construction works worth ₹69.60 crore. These include road construction, government school buildings, police housing, hostels and police station buildings. In addition, 96 works under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, 54 community buildings, a drinking water scheme in Kothri Nagar Parishad and RCC drain construction in Ashta were also launched. ₹1,836 crore transferred to Ladli Behna beneficiaries During the women empowerment conference, CM Yadav transferred ₹1,836 crore directly into the accounts of 1.25 crore Ladli Behna beneficiaries. He said that so far around ₹55,000 crore has been distributed under the scheme to support women empowerment in the state. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Your brother Mohan is always with you,” assuring continued support from the government in all circumstances. He also criticised the opposition, saying the Congress has consistently opposed the Ladli Behna scheme. Government approves demands raised by local representatives The Chief Minister also approved all demands submitted by the local MLA and MP during the event. He said Ashta holds historic significance as a place where large-scale direct financial assistance has been provided to women.
