‘vande-mataram-not-allowed-in-islam’:congress-councillor’s-remark-in-indore-sparks-row;-bjp-to-file-fir-after-uproar

During the budget discussion at Indore Municipal Corporation on Wednesday, Congress corporators Fauzia Sheikh Aleem and Rubina Iqbal refused to sing ‘Vande Mataram’. On the chairperson’s instructions, Fauzia said that she should be shown the Act which makes singing ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory. This angered BJP corporators. To control the situation, Chairperson Munnalal Yadav instructed Fauzia to leave the house. Meanwhile, corporator Rubina Iqbal, while talking to media after the house proceedings ended, said – we don’t listen to anyone’s bullying, not even their father’s. BJP corporators say that an FIR will be filed in this matter. A decision will be taken soon after discussing this with Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and Chairperson Munnalal Yadav. Rubina Iqbal said, ‘Vande Mataram is prohibited in Islam’ When Dainik Bhaskar questioned Congress Councillor Rubina Iqbal about this, she said- Tell one person to eat this and tell another to swallow it…how much difference is there between the two things. They are telling us that if you want to live here, you will have to say Vande Mataram. We don’t listen to anyone’s father’s bullying. Why should we listen to anyone’s bullying? Rubina said- We sing Jana Gana Mana, Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara. Everyone sings them. In our Islam, saying Vande Mataram is prohibited. If it’s prohibited, then it’s prohibited. In response to a question, he said, “When have we not respected the country? I hate their double standards.” None is worthy of worship except Allah Rubina said – They break the small shops of Muslims. Don’t buy goods from Muslims. Won’t let them set up stalls at fairs. My question to them is, why are you taking oil from Iran? If you’re going to take a stand, take a complete stand. Don’t take oil, don’t take gas, dig oil wells in India. We are not going against the nation, we can openly sing ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara’… but what is forbidden in our Quran, we will not do that. The Quran states that there is none worthy of worship except the one Allah. Vande means to worship, Mataram means mother. When we worship the one Allah, why should we worship the mother? We do not worship our own mother, because this is commanded upon us. To hell with Congress, will join Owaisi’s party Rubina said- To hell with the Congress party. They think Muslims are there to get votes. When such issues arise, they wash their hands off. On the question of informing state Congress president Jitu Patwari, Rubina said- We have not signed any contract with Congress that we will remain in Congress for life. If there is a complaint, we will see. If they expel us, let them expel us. We win as independents anyway. We will join Owaisi’s party. BJP said – Show them the way out of the party BJP City President Sumit Mishra said – Vande Mataram was first sung at the Congress National Convention before independence. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev also sang Vande Mataram. Ashfaqullah Khan went to the gallows singing Vande Mataram. He said – The partition of the country happened due to Congress’s policy of appeasement. Mohammad Ali Jinnah was the first to oppose Vande Mataram. Since then, Congress has not been able to take a clear stand on this. Their position is becoming like that of the Muslim League. Those who are inspired by Jinnah’s ideology refuse to sing Vande Mataram. Only anti-national forces oppose Vande Mataram. Mishra said that if they respect Vande Mataram, then they should show the door to those councillors who oppose it. People with Jinnah’s mindset have a problem with this BJP’s State Media Panelist Dr. Prem Vyas said – There are two types of mindsets in India. One inspired by the mindset of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the other with the thinking of Ashfaqulla Khan. People with Ashfaqulla Khan’s mindset love Vande Mataram and have a connection with it. Ashfaqulla Khan used to hum Vande Mataram even in his final moments. He said that those who are inspired by Jinnah’s mindset and are still carrying that thinking preserved in their minds, will naturally have a problem with this.
