A woman in Dhar district has accused five people of assaulting her and attempting gang rape. Three of the accused are women. Police have registered an FIR and started an investigation. The incident took place around 12:30 pm on Sunday in the Dhamnod police station area. A video related to the incident has also surfaced, in which the 38-year-old victim is seen standing with police and some locals, with very few clothes on her body. On Sunday, Asubai along with her sons Amit and Gopal were levelling their land using a JCB machine. During this, they broke the pillars of the boundary wall behind her house. When she objected, the accused started arguing. Soon, they began assaulting her with kicks and punches. After some time, Asubai’s daughters Atina and Hema also reached the spot. All of them allegedly caught hold of her and dragged her into a room, where she was beaten. Her sari was removed. After this, Amit and Gopal allegedly molested her and attempted to gang rape her. She said she managed to push them and ran out of the room. When she shouted, people from nearby gathered. Someone informed the police. A Dial 112 team reached the spot and took her to the police station. Accused absconding, police searching Dhamnod police have registered a case against all five accused based on the woman’s complaint and started an investigation. At present, all the accused are absconding. Police teams are conducting raids to trace them. Meanwhile, Dr Rashmi Solanki of Dhamnod Civil Hospital said the woman was brought for a medical examination in connection with the assault. She had minor injuries and scratch marks on her body.
