A Gwalior court has sentenced the main accused, Rahul Verma, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in a minor gang rape case. This case dates back to January 21, 2024. In the same case, a co-accused was acquitted, given the benefit of doubt due to lack of evidence. Meanwhile, two other accused involved in the incident, Nishkarsh Karan and Jitendra Parasram, are still absconding. The court has issued arrest warrants against them. Held hostage in Mandideep The accused lured and abducted the minor girl. She was taken from Gwalior to Bhopal and Mandideep, held hostage for about 18 days, and repeatedly raped. Kampoo police station recovered the victim from Mandideep. The police had registered a case under kidnapping, gang rape, and the POCSO Act. During the hearing, doctors’ medical reports and forensic documents confirmed this brutality. The court has also instructed the police to arrest the absconding accused as soon as possible.
