Woman ends life after witnessing killing of lover in Shivpuri:Youth tied up beaten to death; family members allegedly taunt her afterward

Two days after the murder of her lover in Kolaras, 20-year-old Varsha Kushwah allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself at her home around 2 PM on Thursday, reportedly distressed by his death. The incident occurred under the Kolaras Police Station area. At the time, her cousin sister was at home; around 1:30 PM, Varsha sent her to the kitchen to bring food, and during that time went into a room and hanged herself. Her sister later returned and found her body hanging. On receiving information, Sanjay Mishra (SDOP) and Gabbar Singh Gurjar reached the spot with a police team. The next morning, villagers saw the body in the drain and informed the police. Police, who arrived at the scene, identified the body as Arjun Pal. In this case, based on the complaint of Kalla Pal, the police had registered a murder case against Varsha’s father, grandfather, and other accused. Varsha herself told the truth to the police
After Arjun’s murder, the police had interrogated Varsha and her statements were also recorded. She was also sent to a One Stop Center. Varsha had told the police that Arjun was tied up and beaten to death in front of her. She also told the police the names of all those who, along with her father and grandfather, had committed this crime. After her lover’s murder, Varsha was handed back to her family from a One Stop Center. Meanwhile, all the men in the house had fled fearing arrest, and sources said women and other family members at home kept taunting and blaming her, which allegedly led to mental pressure and her suicide. In the case, Gabbar Singh Gurjar, station in-charge of Kolaras Police Station, said Varsha died by suicide by hanging. Police have registered a case of unnatural death, conducted a post-mortem, and begun an investigation into the matter.
