Teen found dead with scarf around neck in Ratlam:Father alleges abduction, rape and murder by 4 men

A 17-year-old girl was found dead just 200 feet from her house in a village under Semalkeda Gram Panchayat in Ratlam district on Thursday morning. A scarf was tied tightly around her neck. The girl’s father has alleged that she was raped and murdered. He has named four young men in connection with the case. Police, however, have not yet confirmed the allegations. Taken away from wedding, says younger sister According to the family, the girl had gone to attend a wedding in the village with her younger sister at around 10 pm on Wednesday. Their father had gone out for wheat harvesting work, while other family members were at home. The father said he returned around 4 am and was told that both daughters had not come back. At the wedding venue, a friend informed him that the elder daughter had left for home at around 3 am. The younger sister later told the family that four boys had taken her away. Body found during search, probe underway The father said he located all four suspects and brought them home for questioning. They claimed the girl had gone towards her house. During a search, the family found her body lying on the ground near their home and informed the police. The father claimed that three of the accused have since fled, while one has been handed over to the police. ASP Vivek Kumar Lal said the death is being treated as suspicious and the exact cause will be known after the post-mortem report.
