A farmer died after getting trapped in a wheat thresher machine in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district on Thursday afternoon, police said. The incident took place around 2 pm in the Bari police station area. The deceased has been identified as Narmada Kahar. Police reached the spot on receiving information and, with the help of locals, removed the body from the machine. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Farmer pulled into thresher while feeding crop, dies on the spot According to locals, the incident occurred around 2 pm on Thursday, after the wheat harvest had been completed. Narmada Kahar was standing beside the machine, feeding the harvested crop into the thresher himself. More than half of the crop had already been processed. Suddenly, he lost his balance and was caught in the fast-moving machine. He had no time to react as the thresher pulled him in within seconds. Before fellow farmers could understand what had happened, the tragedy had already unfolded. Panic grips field after horrific accident The incident triggered panic in the field. Farmers and labourers working nearby were left stunned. Some rushed to switch off the machine, while others alerted villagers. A crowd gathered at the spot within minutes. Body recovered, sent for post-mortem; probe on Badi SDOP Neelam Choudhary said police reached the spot soon after receiving information. With the help of villagers, the body was retrieved from the machine. The thresher belonged to the farmer. The body has been sent to Badi Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
