The road suddenly collapsed on National Highway (NH-39) in Amilai village of Sidhi, forming a deep, tunnel-like pit. Three major accidents have occurred here in the past two days. Villagers say the pit is extremely deep and warn that more serious accidents may happen if it is not filled on time. Villager Tej Bahadur Singh said he threw over 50 large stones into the pit, but it did not fill, indicating significant depth beneath the road. Locals have blamed departmental negligence for the situation. See Pictures Officials did not take action Villagers allege that they informed the concerned authorities about this danger many times, but no one paid attention. They say that officials associated with NH-39 are rarely available in the district, due to which complaints do not reach them. In the matter, PWD official Kaushal Parte said that this road was not built by his department, so they cannot intervene. Due to this, responsibility for road repair is not being determined among the departments. Villager himself put up a warning flag Considering the seriousness of the situation, the villagers themselves took the initiative to cover the pit with clothes and planted a wooden stick nearby with a warning flag on it, so that passers-by could be alert and accidents could be avoided. Will get the tunnel filled soon Sidhi Additional Collector BP Pandey said that he has received information about this matter. He has assured that instructions will be given to the concerned officials to get this dangerous tunnel filled soon.
