After the School Education Department’s order for the eligibility test and screening of teachers, there is anger among more than 4.5 lakh teachers selected after 1995 and their families regarding the government’s action. In this matter, teachers’ organizations will first urge the government to reconsider the decision and file a review petition in the Supreme Court, and if the government doesn’t listen, teachers themselves will knock on the court’s door to explain that their appointments were made based on the effective rules for recruitment at that time. After the School Education Department issued orders to conduct eligibility tests amid opposition to e-attendance, teachers are now waiting for the children’s exams to end. They want to ensure that children’s studies and results are not affected by opposition to the government’s decision, but it is said that the protests will intensify after March 15. Will request review petition from the government
State Teachers’ Association Provincial President Jagdish Prasad Yadav says that meetings of Teachers’ Association officials will be held in all districts of the state on March 15. In this, along with deciding the upcoming strategy, a final decision will be taken on filing a review petition in the Supreme Court by the end of March. Yadav says that after RTE was implemented by the central government in 2009, the MP government has implemented this law since 2011. All examinations that are taking place after this are being conducted based on the RTE. The laws and systems that were established before this, the government has made appointments based on those. Yadav said that UP, Jammu Kashmir, and five to six other states of the country have filed review petitions and obtained stays in this matter. In such a situation, MP CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will be met and asked to file a review petition, and if the government does not file the petition in the Supreme Court, then the association will file the petition. He said that implementing the eligibility test rule will affect four and a half lakh family members of one and a half lakh teachers in the state. Major demonstration to be held in Bhopal on April 12
State Teachers’ Union President Bharat Patel says that the union will hold a large demonstration in Bhopal on April 12. During this time, they will meet with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh to request that the government file a review petition in the Supreme Court considering the interests of teachers and their family members.

Patel said that after being recruited into the police, no police officer repeatedly takes physical tests like teachers are being made to do. Government representatives are guardians of the public, and it is the government’s responsibility to look after the interests of the guardians. He said that after the exams end in March and admission procedures in the first week of April, the union has decided to hold the demonstration on April 12.
This is why anger is growing among teachers and family members
Actually, this month, the School Education Department has issued an order stating that teachers who were appointed before the implementation of the Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009 will have to pass the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) to continue in service. The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI), Bhopal, has issued instructions to all Divisional Joint Directors and District Education Officers stating that teachers who have more than 5 years left before retirement must mandatorily take the TET exam.

2-year time limit set for test
Based on the Supreme Court’s decision, the School Education Department has issued instructions stating that concerned teachers must pass the TET exam within two years from the date of the order issuance. If any teacher fails to pass the TET within the stipulated time period, they may be removed from service. The Directorate has instructed officials to identify such teachers working in primary and secondary schools and inform them to appear in the examination. According to the Education Department, there is a proposal to conduct the TET examination in July-August 2026. It has also been clarified that passing TET will remain mandatory for candidates seeking appointment or promotion.
