Central Railway earned ₹16.78 lakh revenue through two trains operated from CSMT and Pune via Surat. All trains ran at 100% capacity, meaning ‘housefull’. These special trains were operated on March 7 and 8. On the of the finals, the train departing from Mumbai Central in the morning recorded the highest number of 1454 passengers. Passengers from Surat dominated all five trains with massive footfall On March 7, there was a rush of passengers from various stations to reach Ahmedabad. Surat station was also an important revenue center, as cricket fans from South Gujarat had made advance bookings on these trains. Suratis passengers dominated all five trains with huge reservations. Approximately 700 passengers from Surat boarded these special trains to reach Ahmedabad to watch the match. According to a senior railway official, these trains operated on short notice and received an unprecedented response from passengers.
